Journalist John Meyer has been the voice of skiing in Colorado for over 25 years. After Meyer moved to Denver in 1981, he began his career as America's ski writer for the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News, bringing the sport to worldwide recognition and popularity. A fellow skier himself, Meyer's personal touch brings life to his stories and positively represents the sport. Meyer's passion for skiing and on-site coverage of six Winter Olympic Games, four FIS World Alpine Ski Championships, more than 100 FIS World Cup events, and personal work with skiing's top stars, including Picabo Street, Lindsey Vonn, Ted Ligety, Todd Lodwick, and Johnny Spillane, has generated an unprecedented amount of sport recognition. Earning the highest level of respect from US Ski Team athletes, sport icons, and ski industry leaders for his tireless efforts on behalf of skiing and snowboarding, he has been recognized as “America's Ski Writer” and is a dean of Olympic journalists in America.
