Otto Tschudi is honored as an athlete and sport builder. He was born in Oslo,Norway, where he started his racing career representing Norway at the 1968 and 1972 Winter Olympics. Otto brought his racing talents to the University of Denver ski team, where he helped win numerous NCAA Ski Championships for D.U. In 1972, after college, Otto turned pro.During his time as a professional Otto skied for the Winter Park Pro Racing Team. After a successful career on the pro circuit, Otto went on to play an active role as a TV ski commentator and served as the director of skiing at Winter Park. Otto was instrumental in reestablishing the ski-racing tradition at the University of Denver.Through his hard work, the D.U. Ski Program was reborn in 1993 and under hisleadership as a trustee, has won five NCAA National Championships.
